Open Relationship

Romantic relationships usually begin the same way; two people find each other and agree to commit to one another and no one else. But, in some cases, two people come together, fall in love, and agree to commit to each other while also keeping their options open for other relationships to form. This is an attractive situation that can be tough to pitch to your boyfriend or husband. How do you convince the man in your life to open of the gates of your relationship for others to enter?

  1. Ease your way into the conversation- When you decide that you want to have an open relationship, it is important to take your time with your significant other. Talk to them about why you think an open relationship would work for you both, what that would mean, and what sort of boundaries would be set. Don’t expect an answer at the end of the conversation. Allow them to think about it for a week or more if needed.
  2. Consider how the situation will benefit them- When your boyfriend or husband hears that you want an open relationship, the first thing to come to their mind will likely be the assumption that there is a problem in the relationship. Reassure them that there is nothing wrong with your relationship and tell them the benefits they will experience by entering an open relationship. Help them understand that they are equally a part of the open relationship as you are.
  3. Reassure them it is not just about sex- When most people think about open relationships, they think that it is all about sexual gain. There should definitely be an emotional need being met as well as physical. Explain that to your partner and make sure that they understand that they are not inadequate in some way and causing you to seek an open relationship.
  4. Set boundaries upfront- Boundaries are so extremely important in all of the relationships we encounter. Talk to your partner and make sure you two are on the same page about what to expect from an open relationship, what is allowed, and what is considered cheating. Once boundaries are clearly laid out and understood, your partner will feel more at ease because they will know exactly what they are getting themselves in to.

  1. I wondered when will we see the first gay-friendly Retirement Resort. Sure, gay peploe will be accepted in most communities, but it is just not the same thing. I further predict that soon we will see theme R. Resorts, like where all retired rugbyplayers or soccer players want to retire to, a filmstar Resort or a rockstar Resort !
