When it comes to picking up women on online dating websites, it’s all about choosing the right words.

Women are very receptive to word choice and tone. The words that you pick and the context in which you say them matters greatly. The first step is to send a message to a potential flame. Use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation to show that you are literate and educated. Don’t try to be cool and use slang to make a unique first impression. Also, avoid being overly formal with your greeting. Sometimes, an informal greeting like, “Howdy”, is much more successful than a formal word like, “Hello”. Think carefully before selecting your words as choosing the wrong one might turn out to be a deal-breaker.

Compliment Only the Right Things

Once you have introduced yourself, do not move on to doling out physical compliments. Like the rest of us, women have very little control over their looks. So don’t give them a reward for something that they might not have worked hard to obtain. Rather, compliment a potential flame on just about anything else. Whether it is her intellect, occupation, education or style, say something nice.

Raise Specific Interests

The average person has a number of different interests and hobbies. Bring up your own interests and ask potential mates what they like to do for fun. The chances are high that she’ll have a specific interest in something beyond TV and exercise. Talk about what you might have in common and see if you can develop a connection.

Ask Questions

If there is a lull in the online or “real world” conversation, break up the monotony with a question. In general, women love to talk and most adore talking about themselves. So ask away. Whether it is a question about work, school, fashion, cooking or the weather, most women will be more than willing to speak on the subject.
