Relationships that begin with simple sparks do not necessarily have to end up as short-term hook-ups. Study has it that hook-ups can eventually turn into serious relationships. Higher relationship qualities are usually common for individuals who take their time to know each other before getting intimate. The disparity doesn’t entirely come about as a result of having sex earlier. Factoring out those who are not interested in getting serious, there is no difference in the quality of relationships. Couples who involve in sexual practices but were open for a serious relationship can end up together and stay happily just like those who dated and waited. Love can develop even for those who start off with the sex and the city approach.
Hookup culture isn’t killing relationships. Our generation and generations before us always said that but science has stepped up to prove it. There is no difference evidence that proves relationships that started off as hook-ups are of lower quality. Some couples who approach the relationship by getting intimate from the onset can develop true love. It happens when they spot each other across the room and get intimate then they develop affection and build their relationship. The readiness of the couple is what determines the quality of a relationship and not the type of sexual relationship.
Engaging in casual sex does not kill the possibility of falling in love and living a romantic life. If, anything it is healthy, normal, and it inspires a better adult relationship. However, chances are higher that hooks up do not end up in serious relationships as compared to dating. So casual sex is still not recommended for individuals intending to build a serious relationship. The best thing is for a couple to wait until both of them are ready to jump in the sack.
